This story was just too funny not to write a little about.
According to a report from the Associated Press, the Cedar Falls police say a Wartburg College student turned himself in, claiming to be the man who broke into a McDonald’s restaurant, cooked some food, and then left.
Police say 21-year-old Whitley Allen Teslow saw media coverage of the burglary, and decided to turn himself over to investigators.
Apparently the McDonald's workers arrived early Sunday to find the drive-up window broken. Police say it appears food had been cooked in the restaurant. There was no immediate word on what he cooked, and it's not even clear if he knew he was there or what he was doing... Security footage shows a man tapping on the glass at the drive-up. He then broke the glass and climbed inside.
The restaurant had closed at midnight.
Teslow the alleged "Hamburglar", who had apparently had quite a night, faces a variety of charges, including 3rd degree burglary, 4th degreecriminal mischief, and 5th degree theft. He is currently in the Black Hawk County Jail in Iowa.
