According to a report in the Kansas City Star, The Kansas City Police Department say they will be conducting a Sobriety / DUI checkpoint this weekend.
The DUI checkpoint will be set up Friday night March 30 and run into Saturday morning at a location in the city known for drunk driving related accidents or DUI arrests.
Signs will be set up ahead of the checkpoint and officers will direct traffic. Motorists will be briefly detained by officers who will determine if they should be held longer.
These checkpoints generally result in very few actual DUI arrests, but they will get many other people for various other traffic ticket and license suspension violations as a result of the checkpoint.
