2012 Thanksgiving Holiday Traffic Enforcement Campaign
The State of Kansas is sponsoring the "Kansas Thanksgiving Traffic Enforcement Campaign". What does this mean? It means multiple agencies across the State will have extra officers out on the roads looking for reasons to give you tickets! It will run from Monday, November 19th, 2012 - Sunday, November 25th, 2012. It is being funded by a grant from the Kansas Dept. of Transportation to target DUI offenders, and people not wearing their seatbelts.
We have received word that multiple local agencies including the Overland Park Police Dept., and the Olathe Police Dept. will be participating in this campaign.
According to the Kansas Dept. of Revenue, people in alcohol-related crashes are more than 2 ½ times likely to be injured or killed than those involved in crashes where alcohol or other drugs were not a factor. So remember it's always safer to designate a driver, or take a taxi. The best and safest way to avoid a DUI is to not drink and drive. And if you do need any extra motivation not to do it, just view our page on

Have a safe Thanksgiving everyone!
