Weekend DUI Checkpoint Update: 10/12 - 10/14
Last weekend was pretty quiet, but things look to be much busier this weekend. Here is what we have heard so far:
1. Overland Park Police plan to have a DUI Saturation Patrol on Friday, October 12th, 2012, it will begin at 10:00 PM, and the enforcement will not end until 2:00 AM. A team of officers will be deployed throughout the city watching for impaired drivers. Drivers who appear to be DUI will be stopped and asked to perform field sobriety tests. Additional testing may be required after that.
2. Lee's Summit, MO, Police plan to have a DUI Checkpoint and DUI Saturation Patrol this weekend. They did not release specifics on time or place.
3. Also, as mentioned in our other blog article, the KCMO Police will be offering free breathalyzers to patrons of the Waldo Bar District tonight as a preventative and educational tool to combat DUI's.
As always, we will update as we learn more.
Remember, the best way to avoid getting a DUI is simply not to drink and drive. It's much safer and cheaper to take a cab or arrange a DD.
