Kansas City Area DUI Checkpoint Update: 4/26/13 - 4/28/13
Here's what's going on in the Kansas City Metro area this weekend:
1. The Kansas City Missouri Police Dept. have announced they will be conducting a DUI checkpoint at an area known for drunk driving related crashes. It's common for them to not announce the exact location they plan on conducting this, but around the Power and Light District has become a good bet for where it will be. There will be signs ahead of the checkpoint notifying drivers to pull over. If they suspect you of being impaired it is likely they will ask you to take field sobriety tests which are not mandatory! (See article here.) If they suspect you of being impaired after field sobriety testing, they may ask you to take further chemical testing to try to estimate your BAC (Blood Alcohol Level).
As always we will update as we learn more, remember the easiest and safest way to not get a DUI is to NOT DRINK AND DRIVE!
