Kansas City Area DUI Checkpoint Update: 4/5/13 - 4/7/13
More of the same this weekend, lots of action:
1. The Overland Park Police Department has announced via their facebook page, that they will be conducting a DUI Saturation Patrol Friday April 5th going into the early morning of Saturday April 6th. It will begin at 10 p.m. and conclude at 2 a.m. A saturation patrol is different from a checkpoint at a set location, a DUI saturation patrol means there will be multiple officers out tasked with specifically looking for signs of impairment in order to write up DUI's.
2. The Johnson County Sheriff's Department has announced there will be a DUI checkpoint / DUI checklane in Mission, KS on Friday April 5th running into the early morning of Saturday April 6th. If you are stopped at a checklane have your license and insurance ready to show the officers. If they suspect impairment they will likely ask you to perform field sobriety tests, and other chemical testing on site. Feel free to read our article "Why to refuse the field sobriety tests if you are pulled over for a DUI in Kansas?"
As always we will update as we learn more, and remember it's always safer and cheaper not to drink and drive.
