Kansas City Area DUI Checkpoint Update: 8/16/13 - 8/18/13
It's going to be a busy weekend, here's what we know so far:
1. Kansas City Missouri Police Department has announced that they will be conducting a DUI checkpoint sometime this weekend as part of the Missouri "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" campaign, which runs 8/16/13 - Labor Day. So expect more of the same every for the next few weekends.
2. The Olathe Police Department along with almost 150 other local police agencies and the Kansas Highway Patrol, will be "educating" about impaired driving and will be working to remove impaired drivers from the roadways. This campaign is called "You Drink. You Drive. You Lose.", and is made possible by a grant from the Kansas Dept. of Transportation. This crackdown will run from 8/16/13 - Labor Day. What does this mean, basically it means that most of the cities in KS are going to have DUI Saturation Patrols / checkpoints running the next few weeks.
3. The Riley County Police Department in Manhattan, KS has announced they will have a DUI checklane Friday 8/16/13.
