Kansas City Area DUI Checkpoint Update: 12/31/13 - 1/1/14 (New Year's Eve Edition)
Let me start by saying: If you are drinking tonight to celebrate the New Year do not get behind the wheel!!!
Alright, here's what we know so far:
1. The Olathe Police Dept. has announced they will be conducting a New Year's Eve DUI Saturation Patrol. A saturation patrol isn't a set checkpoint, but instead a group of 10 - 20 extra officers out on patrol specifically looking for signs of impaired driving. This means they are looking for any reason at all to pull people over!
2. The Overland Park Police Dept. has announced that they will also be conducting a DUI Saturation Patrol on New Year's from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m.
This is what has been announced so far, as always we will update as we learn more. The best way to ring in the New Year is not being in Jail, so don't risk it people. Designate a driver or take a taxi. All of us at Gigstad Law Office wish you a Happy New Year!
