Kansas City Area DUI Checkpoint Update: 11/8/13 - 11/10/13
It's going to be a busy weekend in the KC Metro Area, here's what we know so far:
1. The Overland Park Police Department has announced that they will be conducting a DUI Saturation Patrol on Friday, November 8th, 2013 from 10:00 p.m. to 2 a.m. the following morning. This is different from a set DUI checkpoint location in the fact that there will be multiple officers out combing the streets looking for signs of impaired driving to pull your over. So far this year through the end of October, 537 drivers have been arrested in Overland Park for DUI. Don't become part of the statistic.
2. The Kansas City Missouri Police Department has announced that they will be having a DUI Checkpoint at some point this weekend at an area known for drunk driving related accidents. At a checkpoint there will be signs in advance notifying drivers to pull over, and if the police suspect you are impaired it is likely they will ask you to perform Field Sobriety Tests, and possibly further chemical testing to try to estimate your Blood Alcohol Content (BAC).
As always we will update as we learn more, remember the safest way to avoid a DUI is to not risk it! Don't drink and Drive, get a cab, or designate a driver. Have a safe weekend.
